Outline

Vivid glass bottles and marbles—colored glass has long stirred our hearts alongside such familiar memories. From the early 19th century onward, amid advances in chemistry, artisans and designers conducted repeated experiments in search of new hues, giving rise to rich expressions of color. This exhibition explores the allure of colored glass through four perspectives—its popularization, innovations in materials and techniques, its spread into everyday life, and its legacy today—featuring approximately 150 works, primarily from the Corning Museum of Glass.
