Outline

Taking as its theme “spinning stories,” Collection Exhibition 2018-I presents works from the Toyama Glass Art Museum’s collection that call to mind “stories.” Drawing on experiences and memories gained by conversing with nature and the world around them, artists look hard at themselves and create artworks as if spinning stories. The artworks are imbued with the kinds of fertile scenes that expand our imagination. Our engagement with the ideas superimposed on the works by the artists leads to new stories being spun between the works and ourselves.

This collection exhibition will also feature two works that have recently been donated to the museum’s collection: FUJITA Kyohei’s Spirit of the Flower and TAKEUCHI Denji’s Composition #50. We hope you enjoy the fertile worlds woven by the artists.
